Slumber party part II

Girls don’t have all the fun. This week Mason and I had slumber party (James was invited, but opted out for the Cavs game w/ my bro..whatever, ha ha ). We went to Blockbuster and Mason picked out Jungle Book II. We came home and popped some popcorn and watch Baloo and Bagera (I have no idea if I’m spelling their names right.) I am still signing The Bare Necessities in my head…We had a great time. Mason decided he wanted to sleep with me, and really when mommy and daddy aren’t around…I sometimes MAYBE bend the rules a little bit. (not that you’re surprised Greta, lol). So he fell fast asleep, he was so cute and slept all night! I woke up before him, but I think I just wanted to make sure he was still there, ha ha. He has the cutest personality for a sneak peak take this quote from him for example: (after asking about 100 questions) “I ask a lot of questions”. I love being an Aunt.

A Ghoulishly Good Time

Saturday we had a halloween party {thanks to all that came and helped!}…hopefully we’ll be in a big enough place next year to have a second one!

It was great to see some old friends from the singles branch and make some new ones from our ward. All in all I think everyone had a ghoulishly good time!!!

Some of the highlights of the party: Bobbing for apples, donut eating contest, the separation of the house once the OSU game was on {girls on one side boys on the other}, Making a playlist with songs like Thriller, Monster Mash and The Cha Cha Slide.

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure, to view all click HERE

Weekend Wonderment

This past weekend was a lot of fun, we went to visit the Woolf’s in Michigan. It was a nice relaxed weekend with the fam. We hadn’t been there since June so we were overdue for a visit! We went to an apple orchard in which we turned some yummy apples into an even yummier apple crisps! Thanks to my SIL Jamie, we had two delicious varieties to devour. I love watching James with his family when he’s in his ‘element’ I won’t get too cheesy, but I especially love seeing him with his mom, so cute. I love that man. I have to admit, long car rides are not my favorite, usually anything under 5 hrs I’m ok. Thankfully the drive is only 3 hours. It’s rare these days (as I’m sure you can all relate) that James and I get more than 5 minutes of uninterrupted time together to just shoot the breeze and talk about life and other randomness. Another highlight of the weekend was the $1 white sunglasses Jamie and I found.

Who are you?

if you could have any job in the world…

College degrees and resumes aside, what would you be?

I have always wanted to be a character voice for an animated film. I think it would be a blast to do that! Who knows…maybe someday I will!

So, tell me, what would you be?

Slumber Party

Tonight my 5 1/2 year old niece Corinne and I had a special slumber party. There’s no school tomorrow and I’m not working so it was a perfect time for a little Aunt Stephanie and Corinne time. We headed over to Blockbuster where she got to pick out a Barbie Movie, then to Target to pick a treat out of their $1 area. It was a lot of fun, and she had lots to say which is one of the things that I love about her. Some of the things she says are hilarious. Here’s one from tonight while we’re watching the Barbie Movie (it was about an Island Princess) “When you get married you know the same things as your spouse.” I can’t wait to have more slumber parties with this beautiful, inquisitive, funny little lady!

Shutting it down with Melissa

Last week my friend Melissa was visiting her Grandparents in Ohio, so we were able to meet up and catch up! We were neighbors my freshman year at Ricks College (now BYUI). We had run into each other while we were both at BYU, but that was over 8 years ago! We reconnected on Facebook (naturally, ha ha). We had SO MUCH FUN! We met 1/2 way in this little little town between Columbus and Dayton. We ate at this place called “Ann and Tony’s” which we noticed was the only place to eat besides Mcdonald’s. We stayed there for 3 hours! I guess we had a lot to talk about…it was funny b/c we were the youngest people there by about at least 20 years, ha ha. We had a photo opp with Deputy Sheriff of Franklin County (the county I live in) Not sure why he took his picture with us, but ok! We then wanted to have some more fun, it was almost 10 p.m. by this time, and we found this coffee shop that had free live Blue Grass…what they didn’t mention was that it was Gospel Blue Grass…pretty interesting. We sure did stand out too, everyone looked at us when we walked in. It was quite the experience! Afterwards we walked down to another place to play some darts…it was about 10:30 this time…and we literally “shut down” the little town. It was fun. The best part about reconnecting with old friends, is learning new things about them! Here’s to next time!

Here she is! Isn’t she beautiful?

Back in the day

This is kind of a random post, and it shows off my ghetto photo skills I took a picture of a picture..but I found these two pictures when cleaning today. Not sure why these 2 were laying around, but they made me laugh when I thought back to what was going on while they were taken.

Photo #1 This is actually from a previous post last year here’s the story behind it, I still laugh at it when I read it.
One time in college my friend Lauren and I bought 7-Eleven T-shirts and drove all through Utah stopping at every 7-Eleven we could find and telling the clerks we were on a road trip from South Carolina (where Lauren was from) and that we too were 7-Eleven employees doing a contest. The contest was this: Whichever employee stops at the most 7-Eleven’s and takes pictures w/ the clerks gets a week’s paid vacation! It was funny to hear their reactions, we took lots of very random pictures. They all believed us but wondered why they hadn’t heard of the contest. It was good times. See what I mean about random? I’ll have to dig up the pictures since they were back in the day when digitals were not really common. (like i’m so old, ha ha) There’s even this one picture of me behind the counter checking someone out at the cashier! Like I knew what I was doing!!!

Photo #2 I did a study abroad in Salamanca Spain in the summer of 2001. It was probably one of the neatest experiences I have ever had. I made some life long friendships in the 2 months I was there. This picture was with my friend Gary, we had just come out of the Discoteca, we were basically there every night with a big group of us, since it was free and really fun. A local news channel was there asking us what we did for fun, thankfully Gary served a spanish speaking mission and was able to convey my thoughts more coherently. (on my spanish speaking skills, I always say I know enough not to get me in trouble in a spanish speaking country)

Our anniversary isn’t here yet (just 4 weeks!), but last week we got a new and improved CD with our wedding pics!!! I was happy to get them as our friend Dana Anderson did an amazing job! I have yet to order any of them…but have a few favorites for sure! If you’d like to pass the time, just click on the picture and it’ll take you to all of them!

Questions anyone?

While in Cleveland this past weekend, I met up with some friends at Sweet Melissa’s in Rocky River. Upon arrival, my cousin Sarah and I noticed where our friends were already seated, in this raised long table, that literally looked like we were all going to be on a panel, waiting for people to start asking us questions! It was kinda funny, but a GREAT eatery. I had some ooey-gooey 5 cheese mac-n-cheese with some fresh cut fries (I’m so healthy). It was fun to catch up and laugh about silly things.
