Edward Fan Club
So now that I have Edward on my mind, I can’t sleep (just kidding!) But seriously…I just found this (and I’m sure I’m the last one too…) But I HAVE to have it.
I’m so wearing this to the movie when it comes out! If you want one too, shoot me an email and I’ll put an order in, we can save on shipping!!!!

So sometimes I like to pretend I have no responsibilities. Tonight was a perfect example. James and I went out to eat and decided to go see a movie…after that we decided to go see another movie! It was fun and we got home at 11, so just in time for bed! (even though it’s 11:53 p.m. and I’m still awake)
So here are the reviews of our double feature:
First we saw “Be Kind Rewind” with two of my favorite actors Jack Black and Mos Def (I love his music too)
Here’s a little recap:
Jerry is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant he suspects of causing his headaches. But he inadvertently causes his brain to become magnetized, leading to the unintentional destruction of all the movies in his friend’s store. In order to keep the store’s one loyal customer, an elderly lady with a tenuous grasp on reality, the pair re-create a long line of films including The Lion King, Rush Hour, Ghostbusters, When We Were Kings, Driving Miss Daisy, and Robocop, putting themselves and their townspeople into it. They become the biggest stars in their neighborhood.
My Thoughts:
In true Jack Black fashion he plays a misunderstood weirdo that likes to play air guitar and never take showers. However, he plays a good friend to Mos Def’s character. Not exactly what I was expecting (as usual when I see a movie), but there were more than one laugh out loud parts. It’s a little off the beaten path, but overall I liked it. I’d say it’s for sure a one rent movie.
Our second movie was “Jumper”
Here’s the recap:
A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between “Jumpers” and those who have sworn to kill them.
My Thoughts:
Again an overall likable movie, it would have been nice for the characters to be developed a little more in-depth. But the special effects were pretty cool. I have to admit though the entire movie I kept thinking how Hayden Christensen would have made the perfect Edward for the Twilight Movie. I am sure that Robert Pattison will do a knockout job…but I can’t help think of HOT Hayden would be in the character of Edward *sigh*
So that was our night, kind of fun pretending I had nothing else to do but sit in a movie theater for about 3 1/2 hrs.

I was thinking on my way to work this morning (something I rarely do) about all the things going on in our lives right now and became overwhelmed. Not necessarily stressed out overwhelmed, but just overwhelmed. Yesterday was kind of annoying day at work, and lots of things that were just lingering around not really getting solved. So when I came into work this morning I had a few phone calls/emails that comforted me.
We are moving to Columbus so James can start school at Ohio State on March 24th, and in the process I am looking for a new job and we’re buying a town house all in the same month. Changes are certainly ahead of us! As I relfect on all that has “happened” to us in the last year, I would have never have thought this is where we would be headed. In retrospect, Columbus is exactly where we need to be. You know how things just “fall” into place? That’s exactly what is happening to us. We didn’t get accepted into the accelerated Bachelor/Med School program we were hoping for (we waited literally an ENTIRE year to find this out)…so we applied to OSU and found out in 3 weeks from applying that James was accepted. We got our finances figured out, and put in an offer for a townhouse that was accepted! (we are supposed to close on it soon), my contract here at work is due to be done in the end of March (possibly longer form a work at home status), our apartment lease is up in April. Everything just feel into place!
Normally I am a freak and have to have everything planned and “tasked” out in lists, steps and exact dates. I think sometimes I give James hives b/c I’m over the top at organizing and planning. This process of moving has really helped me to be less of a freak (I think). Lots of things are still up in the air, like our exact move date, my exact last day of work, and when we’re actually closing…but at least two things are concrete: 1. we’re getting a house 2. James is starting school!
I could go on about how our first year of marriage was difficult and we were faced with all these challenges…but that’s not important anymore. Yes, we faced a lot of trials but not anymore than the next newly married couple. Yes, I went through a tough bat of depression that caused strain on my self worth, my self esteem, and my everyday life. Yes, we faced some financial strains because of my job situation over the summer…
But looking forward, I am in a job that has helped us start a savings account (a small one, but one nontheless), we aren’t so concerned if James works or not (since he’s in construction the weather tells him if he’ll work or not). I love the girls I work with, and feel appreciated and needed.
James was literally my superman through all of this. He picked up where I slacked off, he built me up when I tore myself down. He prayed for us when I didn’t want to pray. He hugged me when I didn’t want to be hugged. He loves me no matter what. I love him more than I ever thought I could.
Our families are nothing short of amazing. From all the phone calls I made to my mom, to all of the Sunday dinners my dad cooked for us. For the “I love yous” from my sweet niece and nephew. For the fun weekends in Michigan with the rest of the Woolf Pack. All of the family gatherings with Aunts and Uncles with lots of laughter and sarcasm!
And church, I LOVE CHURCH! I have loved being in Young Womens, their sparkling personalities and desire to be great is awesome. I can’t go without saying how much I love working with Nicole & Sharyn…I am sad to have to leave them soon. I can honestly say, they are two of the most amazing ladies I have come into contact with - always willing to help and share a good laugh with.
Finally but not least, my friends! For those that I’ve known since childhoood, shared my first college apartment with, lived in Spain with, worked with, and just met this last year. THANK YOU! For all of the fun times we’ve had and all the ones yet to come.
I am stoked for the adventure our lives are about to experience. Hopefully our next adventure will be starting a family!

So I’m about the 234234923402303 person to post about the musical WICKED, but I don’t care this show ROCKED my soul! I have loved reading everyone else’s post about their experience and have to concur. Wow. James surprised me at Christmas with the soundtrack…and inside the soundtrack were the tickets for the show! I had all the songs almost memorized by the time I saw the show, so I had to catch myself singing along as to not annoy those around me. I am an avid show-seer (as much as my wallet will allow) and this was my first one in about a year. I have to say it again..WOW it was awesome. The lyrics, story, portrayal of characters - makes me proud that I too am a fellow Thespian. Every time I see a good show, I always get goosebumps thinking back to my days on the stage (ok so I’ve been in like 4 shows and they were all in High School). Maybe someday if I’m not too rusty I’ll do community theater that would be so fun.
So for all my elfie fans and naysayers of Nessa…GREEN FOR GOOD!
My favorite quote from the play:

I’ve been meaning to post about this past weekend…but have just been too lazy (imagine that) so before it’s too late and there’s another weekend…here goes along with other random thoughts…
First, here are the beautiful buds James got me for Valentines day, my favorite! Tulips!
Friday we went to a fun new mexican place downtown on the “East 4th District” called Zocalo’s it was buen provecho! We went with Matt & Sarah Britt - we had a good time.
Saturday we met up with my Parents at the West Side Market where we shopped for some fresh foods. This is the coolest place ever, it’s Cleveland’s oldest and largest market. As you know, I am not what you would call a “foodie” but being here made me want to be one! Everyone should go if you ever get a chance.
From there we went to the Great Lakes Science Center where there was an exhibit on Chocolate!!! To my dismay and excitement at the same time this was more educational than one would expect. Did you know that the cacao seed was once was used as currency during the time of the Aztecs? My favorite part of the GLSC was the picture below:
Look at my hair! You put your hand on this thing (so scientific I am) and the friction creates a lot of static!!! Everyone was laughing it was good times.
I am a sucker for these types of weekends, even though it was freezing outside, I love that there’s still so much to do. Museums, exhibits, great food, people…until next time!

I did it. I goofed up at work. Not a huge one, but one nontheless. I have to keep reminding myself of this philosophy:
- All people make mistakes. Expect mistakes.
- People don’t intend to make mistakes.
- People don’t like to make mistakes.
- People want to “make up” for mistakes made.
- People want to learn from their mistakes.
- People are hurt more by self-regarding feelings than criticism from others when they make mistakes.
- People improve performance after working out correction of mistakes.
James, a year older
Saturday was James’ 24th bday!! It was a fun day, he dictated what we would do. So we went to our favorite spot for breakfast a little hole in the wall called Mike’s Happy Day Cafe…it’s as 80’s as it sounds, but man they make some delish dishes!!! Then we went to see a movie. The plan was to get a big group to play laser tag, then have some cake and ice-cream. Sadly, the laser tag place was sold out for the night…so everyone came to our place and we played a fun game called Hoopla and ate some superman cake (there was no kryptonite in it)
Please note: this was 9 a.m. - there ain’t no makeup going on this girl that early on a weekend!
Make a WISH!
Imagine my embarrassment when the cake lady said to me “So how old is the birthday boy?” as I sheepishly replied “Um….he’s 24.” she didn’t think it was funny…hmmmm…

What is your husband’s name?
James Joseph Woolf
How long have you been together?
Almost 2 years!
How long did you date?
Very long…3 months before we got engaged
Who eats more?
He can eat more at a dinner table, but overall, I think I do
Who said I love you first?
James did! It was on our first date! (Hey when you’re 27, hearing “I love you” at all is a great feat!)
Who is taller?
James! It wasn’t a requirement, but it’s nice to be able to wear 4 inch heels and still be shorter than him!
Who has more speeding tickets?
Take a wild guess….ME (only one is on my record anymore!)
Who is smarter?
Book smarts - hands down, James. Street Smarts - me.
Who is more sensitive?
I’m a girl, so of course I’m more sensitive. But James is very sensitive to my sensitivity!
When there is a fight, who usually wins?
I do. (Happy Wife, Happy Life)
Who does the laundry?
Usually me, but w/ the cold winter and James not being able to work outside…he’s gotten the task of doing more of it!
Who does the dishes?
We both do
Who sleeps on the right?
James does, I like being closer to the door, I don’t know why.
Who pays the bills?
I do. It makes me feel better that I sealed the envelope and sent if off. Although, James helps out
Who mows the lawn?
No lawn
Who cooks dinner?
IF we eat at home, it’s a collaborative effort. But as of late, we’re eating out a lot. (that will change very soon though!)
Who drives when you are together?
If we’re going somewhere James isn’t familiar with (since he’s not from Ohio) he makes me drive, but everywhere else James drives. I just think it’s weird for the wife to drive - am I old fashioned?
Who is more stubborn?
Oh man…me all the way
Who kissed whom first?
James asked if he could kiss me (on our first date) and i told him “Umm I was wondering what was taking you so long!”
Who asked who out first?
As you know, we emailed/talked on the phone before we met (call it meeting online if you will - ask me for a full story on how we met…it was NOT on a dating site) so we both decided to go out.
Who proposed?
James! We bought the ring together about 2 weeks before he proposed. I thought for sure I had him figured out..but he totally surprised me! Since he was living in Michigan I always thought we would get engaged on a weekend. Well, one Wednesday night I was on my way home from institute (my roommate Jana and friend Kerrie were in the car in front of me) and James called me and asked if I was on my way home b/c he had something delivered to my house - I thought was weird b/c it was 9:30 p.m. At this point I had NO clue what was going on. So, as I pull into the driveway, James comes out! He was my delivery!! I barely turned my car off, when he opened the door, got down on one knee and proposed! Our neighbors were on their porch leaning over cheering James on, while Jana & Kerrie witnessed it too! It was perfect b/c I’m a pretty hard person to surprise since I’m so nosy!
Who has more siblings?
We’re both the youngest of 2
I’m tagging Tabitha, Greta, Jodi, Julie Martin & everyone else!

While watching this show tonight I have decided I have to watch it every week. Sigh…was there ever a skill you would LOVE to have? Yea, me too. For me it’s break dancing…man I could seriously watch crews battle all day long. For the record, in college I went to a Hip Hop Class on and off for 2 years…was I any good? Not really…but I can pop and lock it and do a fancy rendition of the robot but that’s about it. I have vowed that when we have kids, they will not be signed up for ballet or soccer, but break dancing {if you know of a child break dance teacher - please let me know} - these are probably pipe dreams..but dreams non-the-less. So I think my next “me” thing to do is take break dancing lessons…now to find a teacher….
