$8.88 is great!
Run don’t walk to the nearest Steve and Barrys where everything (I mean everything) is literally $8.88 and some stuff is even cheaper!!! Click here if you don’t know what Steve and Barrys is. Its pretty much the coolest thing ever! I found a ton of stuff for James, myself and others for Christmas - they say the sale will end with no notice, so hurry! Stop what you’re doing and get in some retail therapy before it’s too late!

Today we received the letter from Kent letting us know James was not accepted into the B.S./M.D. program. I received the news through email around 11:30 a.m., I immediately broke down in tears (I have extra ‘emotional’ horomones, I think…are there such things?) Talked to my boss and she told me to go home. So i got home about 1 p.m. and we hugged for a bit, and decided to just celebrate the possibilities of a new adventure. I, of course, became defensive wondering what about James didn’t they think would be a good fit for the program? Apparently they don’t see what I do. When we figure out plan B (still in the works) whatever school whatever program gets the gift of having James in their presence. That’s all I have to say about that. So while we are sad, and bummed, we realized the opportunity. The opportunity to see what else is out there. I have no doubt that another program will welcome James with both arms wide open, whether or not that its an advanced program or even in Ohio (i’m sure it will be) we are open to new ideas. It may take a few weeks to come up with an action plan, I am confident it will be the right plan! We appreciate everyone’s kind words and prayers! Tomorrow is another day!

I know you’re all wondering how did we ever fit this huge 3 1/2 foot tree in our tiny little apartment? Pure magic I tell you! This is our 2nd year with this little guy and each year we hang a few more ornaments on it. Many were received as wedding gifts, I think we literally have like 5 “1st Christmas” ones up, and i love them all! Some are ones I’ve made at Thanksgiving (thanks Aunt Jeni!) and some were ones we bought together. I love decorating even if there’s not much room, it just makes it seem so cozy and christmassy! Here’s a sad (I do mean SAD) attempt to take our own picture for our christmas card…needless to say, these did not make the cut!
Saturday afternoon James & I visited quite possibly an icon of an American Christmas, the movie “A Christmas Story.” The movie debuted in theaters on Friday, November 18,1983 and bombed in the box office. It wasn’t until the early 90’s before it became a corny classic. I confess, I love this movie and literally have it memorized. It is always on at our house on the 24th as it’s on 24 hrs on TBS. We got to meet the ‘evil elf’ who by the was the only Clevelander casted in the movie and still lives here today! She did her famous “C’mon Kid”It was really crowded, but it was so fun! Here are some pics, if you want to see the whole set just click on any of the pictures. I highly encourage everyone to come and visit this awesome place! www.achristmastoryhouse.com

Friday night we went with our friends Matt & Lara Ellingson to dinner and ice skating, we had a lot of fun. Later our friends Adam & Michelle met up w/ us and we went to Borders for some hot drinks and sweet treats it was great fun!! I didn’t fall ice skating, and I ran into like 3 people I knew from the Cleveland Marketing scene which was fun…but kind of random. It was the most exercise I had gotten in a looong time, but it was much needed!!! Our conversation at Borders was very fun, but out of place, we (ok, just me) were boisterous and laughed a lot…among trendy book readers and laptop cronies we were the loudest, but we had the most fun by far.
this picture has nothing to with ice skating other than this is what we did before, eat delicious fries from the place Five Guys Burgers - YUM! Note: this was an order of 3 fries, shared by 4 adults, there was a lot left over!
I had to take a break my feet were not liking me at this point….(new years resolution #1 become active again!)
Matt scared the C-R-A-P outta me by shooting Lara right by me as if we were going to collide into each other, i have this huge fear of falling on ice.
Meet Matt & Lara Ellingson we are becoming great friends with this dynamic duo - the 4 of us are kindred spirits - I HEART them!
It was really a blast, we are up for ice skating anytime! Let us know if you want to go sometime!
Michelle & Adam - so cute you could eat them..no, really
Elevators
I spend a lot of time in and out of Elevators at work going to and from meetings…sometimes I’m alone other times it’s full of suit-wearing crack-berry using (I however, am not one of them) very savvy professionals…there is small talk about the weather “wish it were Friday” comments….and often there is silence. I wonder what the heck everyone is thinking about. My thoughts are often scattered and kind of random. So I ask, when you are in an elevator what the heck are you thinking about?
On another note: On average I spend over 55 hrs of the week at work (including travel time) WHY?!?!?!?!

In approximately 7 days we’ll know if we’re moving to Kent, Ohio or not and if James is on his way to becoming a Pediatrician (at least through this program). I look back at when we started this journey (Jan. 07′), the counselor we met with wanted to accept him on the spot…but alas she’s not on the board of admissions. The wait has been long and James has worked hard to get to this point. Either way, I know he’ll be successful. I am very hopeful though. A lot of people are surprised that we only applied to one School (NEOUCOM) - for whatever reason we just felt this was the place he needed to be. If there needs to be a plan B, we’ll figure it out, but we’re kind of putting our eggs in one basket - call us crazy…but that’s what we’re doing!
Life otherwise is great, we are enjoying the holiday season with friends and family and look forward to the crazy schedule I ( James just looks at our calendar and shakes his head like I’m crazy) have agreed to parties and such, I love it. I anxiously await the return of friends from far away and all the christmas cards we’ll get with cute family pictures and letters. I also am excited to go visit the place where my all time favorite movie was filmed!!
Once I have pictures to load, I promise I’ll put some on here…as of late our blog has been quite text heavy….
