We are blessed
I feel compelled to put aside my stresses, my disappointments and my focus on something I take extremely for granted; our blessings.
Tonight we were driving over to some friends house for a cookout when we passed two individuals waiting for the RTA (bus) to pick them up. They looked tired and had tattered plastic bags with various belongings in them…I turned to James and said “We are so blessed.” We both grew up in humble households. We never wanted or needed anything our parents provided for us the best way they knew how. James always had the latest video games…and I always had a fun pair of shoes (even if they were from payless or said “pro-wings” LOL!)…Now that I’m married and we’re in charge of providing for ourselves, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for my family, my husband, my friends and my heavenly father. It is incomprehensible of how many blessings we have.
I wouldn’t consider myself out of the ordinary, or particularly unique…but like everyone else I enjoy what I enjoy and dislike what I dislike!
This is kind of a random post, but I just needed to share my feelings!
So my epiphany for the day is: complain less, compare less, thank more and give gratitude gracefully.
We are doing good, James has finally stopped working at sam’s and now is a distinguished masonry guy…working for his father-in-law! :) He’s more physically tired, but our wallet has been a little happier these days :). I am working full-time. let’s just leave it at that. it’s a job.
